Janet (Bayramyan) Generales, LCSW

Welcome - I'm so glad you're here.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in multiple states, including California (LCSW #88575), Florida (SW #16210), South Carolina (LCSW #15094), Texas (LCSW #108071), Connecticut (LCSW #12457), and North Carolina (LCSW #15765). My cultural background is a blend of Russian, Armenian, and American influences, and I believe culture profoundly shapes our identity, relationships, beliefs, and overall emotional well-being. I strive to create a therapeutic space that honors each person's unique experiences, values, and story.

For over eight years, I have had the privilege of working as a trauma therapist with individuals and couples navigating trauma, addiction, relationship challenges, anxiety, life transitions, and experiences that have left them feeling disconnected from themselves or others. It has been an honor to witness people from all walks of life share their stories and allow me into some of their most vulnerable moments.

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, supportive, and deeply rooted in the belief that healing happens when people feel safe enough to be fully seen. While I provide practical tools and evidence-based interventions, my ultimate goal is to help clients move beyond symptom management and into deeper healing-strengthening their capacity to hold their emotions with compassion, reconnect with themselves, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Becoming a mother has expanded and transformed not only my personal life but also the way I understand and support clients. Through my own experiences navigating pregnancy, postpartum recovery, identity shifts, motherhood, and the emotional complexity that can accompany this season of life, I developed a deep passion for supporting women through the perinatal and postpartum journey.

Motherhood can be beautiful, but it can also be overwhelming, isolating, activating, and unexpectedly tender. I know firsthand how becoming a parent can surface old wounds, challenge our sense of self, and bring up emotions we didn't anticipate. This lived experience, combined with my clinical expertise, allows me to support mothers with compassion, nuance, and understanding as they navigate fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, anxiety, birth trauma, identity shifts, relationship changes, and the mental load that often accompanies modern motherhood.

As a Certified EMDR Therapist and Certified Brainspotting Therapist and Consultant, I specialize in trauma resolution and nervous system healing. I am also trained in Attachment-Focused EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS) Levels 1 and 2 (parts work), Havening Techniques, and additional trauma-informed approaches. Through the lens of EMDR, Brainspotting, IFS, and attachment-based work, I help clients understand how past experiences may live in the body and nervous system-and support them in building greater safety, regulation, connection, and self-trust.

I want you to know that what you bring into therapy is not too much. You do not need to have the right words or carry your experiences alone before showing up. My role is to help hold space for all parts of your story with curiosity, compassion, and respect while walking alongside you toward healing, relief, and a more connected life.

In addition to my clinical work, I am an active member of the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), Brainspotting Inc., and the Internal Family Systems Institute. I earned my Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California and my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge.

At Road to Wellness Therapy, we provide therapy for individuals and couples in person in Encino, California, and virtually for clients residing in California, Florida, South Carolina, Texas, Connecticut, Nevada, and North Carolina.

Thank you for visiting. Whether you are navigating trauma, healing old wounds, adjusting to motherhood, or simply longing to feel more like yourself again, I would be honored to support you on your path toward healing and growth.
