Carrie Jacobson, ACSW

Hi, I’m Carrie. I’m a trauma-informed Associate Clinical Social Worker  # 131046 dedicated to expanding the definition of recovery — because most of us are recovering from something.

Though I’ve spent more than half my life between Boston and Omaha, I’ve called Los Angeles home for nearly twenty years and still proudly identify as a Midwesterner. Before becoming a therapist, I worked for fifteen years in advertising agencies. That experience taught me the importance of balance, creativity, and advocating for well-being in high-pressure environments — lessons I now bring into the therapy space.

I’m passionate about supporting clients as they navigate different forms of recovery. My work as a counselor in a shelter-based domestic violence agency deeply shaped my path. I’ve helped individuals in moments of crisis, those healing from abusive relationships or intimate partner violence, and parents striving to raise their children in healthier environments. I also have experience supporting clients facing crippling depression, anxiety, and substance use challenges, particularly alcohol use disorder. I’m familiar with 12-step programs and Refuge Recovery, and I honor the many ways people seek healing and empowerment.

Most of all, I believe recovery is about curiosity — gently exploring the “why” behind our patterns with compassion instead of judgment. Together, we’ll create a space where you can feel safe, supported, and open to change.

I am currently under the supervision of Jennifer Adams, LMFT #138946, and thrilled to be a part of the Road to Wellness Therapy team. I graduated with my Master's in Social Work from California State University Northridge, and am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I look forward to walking alongside you as you uncover strength, healing, and greater balance in your life.
